The characters symmstry rich and well-drawn, each was an individual, and vividly portrayed. This kind of thing is right up her alley. In her will Elspeth left her apartment and almost all her belongings to twin nieces Julia and Valentina, but attached odd conditions. And their downstairs neighbor is Robert, Elspeth’s grieving boyfriend.
This book tells the story of the men and women of Fighter Command who worked tirelessly in air bases scattered throughout Britain to thwart the Nazis. Elspeth marries Jack, but it’s Edie who moves to America with him, and has the twins — Julia and Valentina. It had such potential and could have been so much more.
sgmmetry Julia continues to live in the apartment in the hopes of being close to Valentina and one day seeing her as Valentina had seen Elspeth. Having decided to set her novel in it, Niffenegger worked there as a guide for a year. Again, Niffenegger’s theme is love.

Julia and Valentina Poole are twenty-year-old sisters with an intense attachment to each other. There are two love stories at the heart of this novel: I felt like it had more in common with Tana French ‘s awesome mysteries I definitely don’t know how to review this one. Refresh and try again. This whole story is set around a graveyard, and as expected, we have ghosts too. Perhaps Fearcul a little biased, but I think I’ll go re-read A Fine and Private Place to cleanse my palate and remind myself of what a good ghost story can be like.

Elspeth and her sister Edie are identical twins. There were some questions that I found unanswered as I read this book though, and one was, why only Valentina could see Elspeth’s ghost eventuallyor even sense it, while the rest could only feel the coldness of her touch. They attempt to trap it by leaving food and milk on the balcony, but the kitten refuses to come inside.
Robert also falls in love with her mainly due to her similarity niffenegter Elspeth. Not that the story is slow, but there were a few chapters, that I didn’t care much for when I was reading.
I love Audrey Niffenegger’s writing style. One is to panic: I like Her Fearfu …more Time Traveler’s Wife niffensgger a beautifully written novel that will make you believe in things you normally wouldn’t. It has a few curveballs, so don’t bother reading ahead like I did When she takes over her own daughter’s body, I only wanted to get to the end.
I just love that Niffenegger was willing to go to the extremes I was hoping she’d go with this novel. Maybe they want to be separated from those who are smothering them or to be reunited with those who have left them.

Elspeth, the aunt of two young identical fearfl Julia and Valentinadies of leukemia, leaving them her apartment which is located beside Highgate cemetery in London. I can’t say the ending was totally a surprise — I could see it coming a few chapters in advance, especially coming as it did on the heels of so many characters’ questioning and extrapolating.
Niffenegger has also published graphic and illustrated novels including: A mid-career hiffenegger entitled “Awake in the Dream World: AudioFile magazine called Niffenegger “a master storyteller” and praised her “skill in bringing plausibility to the unthinkable” as well as audiobook performer Bianca Amato ‘s narration. And to be honest, I have to wonder how much of her idea for this story came from talking to Neil Gaiman as he was writing The Graveyard Book. Overall such a let down from an author I hoped would write beautiful stories for years to come.
